Time Magazine and the Enshrining of Mayor Rahm Emanuel: Can a Media Hero Do Any Wrong?
Mayor Rahm Emanuel, at the helm of arguably the most corrupt city in the nation, has an image challenge. He has created enemies left, right, and center in the name of budget cuts while racking up spending on pet projects for the 1% like a maze of protected bike lanes through the city. His notorious temper and connections to the embattled Obama “Chicago Way” Administration risk forever tainting his turn in charge.

Bob Woodward is a White House Appeaser
By: Cliff Kincaid
Accuracy in Media
“Informant stated that DAVIS spent much of his time in this activity. He said this was the third different occasion DAVIS had been observed photographing shorelines and beachfronts. Informant advised that it did not appear he was photographing any particular objects.”
“Barack Obama’s 40-page so-called ‘rebuttal’ to Jerome Corsi’s book, The Obama Nation, acknowledges for the first time that the senator once had a personal relationship with identified Communist Party USA (CPUSA) member Frank Marshall Davis, a key high-level operative in a Soviet-sponsored network in Hawaii.
“But the 40-page report, advertised and sold to the media as a refutation of Corsi’s ‘lies,’ doesn’t identify Davis as a hard-core communist and it dishonestly edits an article about Davis to eliminate references to his admitted involvement in CPUSA activities and make the black revolutionary writer and ‘poet’ look like a civil rights activist.”
“Frank Marshall Davis (December 31, 1905 – July 26, 1987) was an American journalist, poet, and political and labor movement activist.”
“Children are a target of the sex ‘specialist.’ Davis explains: ‘Undoubtedly an individual’s sexual patterns can be traced back to early childhood experiences.’ (p 35) Davis later writes of a threesome between himself, his first wife and a thirteen year old Jamaican girl. (p 71-78) His account begins, ‘Spring: warmer weather, children playing on the sidewalk in front of our building. An unusual looking child stared solemnly at me each day as I approached the entrance, then turned away when she caught my eye. I knew she was a niece of dad’s former landlady, but that was all. Someday she’d be brightly beautiful; she now had it in miniature.’ The next seven pages are a detailed description of their sexual encounters.”
“Zero about Davis’s long time membership of the Communist Party USA. Zero about the FBI’s 600 page file on the man. Zero about Davis’ mentorship of the young Barack Obama. The two most important features of Davis’ life get ZERO coverage in Wikipedia. Woefully inadequate and misleading to put it mildly! Dangerous even, because many people swear by Wikipedia.”

Ted Turner's son says Jane Fonda made dad a liberal
“I was raised in a different time at the Turner household … a very conservative household with capitalism and all of that kind of stuff,” the younger Turner told Newsmax TV’s “The Steve Malzberg Show.”
Teddy Turner is running for Congress in South Carolina, where he faces former Gov. Mark Sanford in a Republican primary. His platform includes opposition to taxes and same-sex marriage and he is a global warming skeptic – all positions his father does not share.
“Yes, I’m Teddy Turner,” he said at a recent Republican gathering. “You can’t pick your parents.”
Ted Turner, who founded CNN and once owned the Atlanta Braves, married Fonda in 1991. The actress and workout guru, dubbed ‘Hanoi Jane’ for posing with a Viet Cong anti-aircraft gun in a misguided protest against the Vietnam War, apparently had an influence that outlasted their marriage.
“He started becoming more and more environmentalist and then Jane helped move things over as well," Turner told Malzberg. “Then when you start hanging around and everybody you’re hanging around with is liberal, then you tend to move more liberal.’’
In a recent interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, Turner quipped that his jet-setting father, one of the biggest landowners in the U.S., figures “he owns a lot of trees so his carbon footprint is pretty limited.”
Despite their political differences, the father and son are close. Teddy Turner told Politico that after his appearance with O’Reilly, he got the following note from his father: “I saw your interview with Bill O’Reilly on Fox,” it read, “and I thought you did a great job! I’m really proud of you, and I hope you win. Best of luck. Love, Dad.”
Teddy Turner, a 49-year-old high school teacher, said he – not his father – has always been consistent in his political orientation.
“I’m not a liberal,” he said. “People say how did you separate from your dad? I didn’t separate from my dad. My dad separated from me.”
The Media branding of Yoani Sanchez kicks into high gear–So keep your eye on The Ball, folks
In brief: The Ball is the "embargo." The Terrorism listing is linked. Both constrict the Stalinist regime's jugular. With Hugo Chavez fading, the future of the financial flow through its jugular is getting the Stalinist regime antsy. So a regime/media offensive is underway to start procuring this vital flow from the north."For Cuba, being able to influence U.S. policy and elite opinion-makers is equally important--possibly even more important-- than recruiting spies with access to U.S. intelligence information." (Norman Bailey Office of the Director of National Intelligence, 2007.)To most people anywhere over .0000009 millimeters outside Miami-Dade borders the "Cuba Embargo" is a triviality they occasionally glimpse while sifting through much more important news. "Archaic," "Counterproductive" "Hurts U.S. businesses," "Hurts hardworking U.S. farmers," "Hurts Cuban people," etc., is what they probably retain from their skimming of the headlines and the highlighted quotes from Cuba "Experts."Now Middle America will be bombarded with the fact that--whaddaya know!--even a gen-you-wine Cuban Dissident concurs with the "expert" views they always read and hear in the news! And when I say "Middle America" it applies almost literally. This headline appeared today in The Kansas City Star (and in many of the other 30 syndicated McClatchy papers:)"Yoani Sanchez may be a dissident in Cuba, but she agrees U.S. embargo must go."Obviously if he was introduced as somebody who slips in and out of Cuba at will and takes under the table payments from Castro's biggest partners in crime the impact of Phil Peters' "expertise" would diminish. If Arturo Lopez-Callejas were introduced as a former Castro Intelligence official, and nephew in-law of the Stalinist dictator, same thing. So we hear from the MSM that the first is "a former Bush administration State Dept. official" and the later a "scholar in Denver.""Well Hot Damn!" reacts the typical distracted reader or viewer. "Deze guys sure don't sound like Commie-lovers to me!"Same with Yoani Sanchez. First the "swing voters" on the embargo must be convinced that she's a gen-you-wine and visceral opponent of Castroism. Only then does her anti-embargoism make a serious mark. Please note: The woman's personal motivation is not the issue here--it may well be as pure as the driven snow. Our concern is with the motivation of her facilitators--and especially with the results of her Good-Will (against the embargo) tour.(I apologize for appearing to insult the intelligence of regular Babalu readers with these digressions, but we have many new friends from outside Miami-Dade coming aboard who need some basic background on Cuba news, and we're delighted and honored to welcome them.)She's only been out of Cuba for two days, and we've seen some of the headlines. By the time she hits New York and Washington D.C.--can you imagine the media barrage?! And be assured no media mention will omit the "embargo." Just watch....and keep your eye on The Ball, folks.

Obama and the Leftist Infiltration of Israeli Media
By: Terresa Monroe-Hamilton
One featured project from the 2005-6 grantees, entitled “Words Can Kill,” is jointly implemented by Israeli NGO Keshev and Palestinian NGO Miftah. According to the EC, these NGOs promote a “discourse free of incitement, prejudice and dehumanization of the other in Israel and Palestine.” In sharp contrast, Miftah’s website is a forum for demonization of Israel and “disseminate[s] the Palestinian narrative and discourse globally.” For instance, during the fighting in Gaza, Miftah referred to Israeli “atrocities” and “massacres.” An opinion piece published on January 8, 2009 declared, “Israel has opened the gates of hell to the Palestinians,” and denounced defense of Israeli actions as “scandalous fabrications.” In these and countless other examples, Miftah makes a mockery of the stated goals of a “culture of moderation, tolerance, and understanding.” PfP-funding for Miftah raises serious doubts about proper oversight and auditing procedures by the European Commission.

Recognizing the central role of the United States both in terms of its historic alliance with Israel and its efforts to facilitate a resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, B’Tselem has established an American presence to inform the political and public discourse in this country and to ensure that human rights are a centerpiece of both the bilateral relationship as well as diplomatic efforts.
If you’re wondering who’s funding the network of left-wing, non-government organizations in Israel, which aim to topple Netanyahu’s government and turn Israel into an Arab majority state, it turns out to be the same man who’s funding the Occupy Wall Street mobs: George Soros. Tel Aviv has had to contend with the same left-wing protests, tents and all, obviously all coordinated by one central global puppeteer.
That is why the Israeli Knesset passed the NGO Funding Transparency Bill by 40 to 34 in February. It was a hard-fought battle. But despite its neutered state, the bill survived and was enacted. It is a declaration of war by the conservative Likud Party against the shadow NGO empire being used by George Soros to shape the future of Israel. Its liberal opponents called it a “threat to democracy”…
Soros’ global reach is what is contributing to world-wide economic and political disequilibrium. His attempt to overthrow the Netanyahu government is a particularly odious campaign. He has aroused intense hatred among many supporters of Israel…
It is obvious that Barack Obama’s attitude toward Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu has been shaped by his puppetmaster. He takes his instructions from the Shadow Party, that network of private organizations that now controls the policies of the Democratic Party, which is pursuing goals that are never openly discussed in public. These goals embody a fundamental hostility to American institutions and even to American sovereignty as a nation.
“America is at that awkward stage. It’s too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards.” – Claire Wolfe

Cuba-EEUU: The NYT's Elitist Bias Against Menendez
However, The New York Times' problem with Senator Menendez has nothing to do with unsubstantiated ethics allegations, it has to do with its elitist opposition to Menendez's foreign policy views.
Case and point -- the first sentence of the editorial:
"Senator Robert Menendez was never a distinguished choice for chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the position he ascended to this month by virtue of seniority."
For The New York Times, Senator Menendez has never been "distinguished" enough because he doesn't stem from Manhattan's elitist foreign policy community.
You know, from the cocktail party circuit that has endlessly feted the Castros, Arafats and Assads of this world.
Instead, Senator Menendez -- the son of a carpenter and a seamstress that valued their freedom in the U.S. -- has historically challenged the world's most brutal dictators, whether from the left or the right.
He's a tireless champion of human rights defenders and courageous pro-democracy activists -- from Iran to Cuba.
Moreover, he doesn't believe in unilateral concessions to America's foes.
This is a man who has guided three major foreign policy bills on Iran in the last 13 months.
This stands in stark contrast to The New York Times, whose editorial board staunchly advocates for engagement with Iran's mullahs and normalized relations with Cuba's Castro brothers.
Thus, it clearly wants Senator Menendez out of its way.

"Hablame"
(el-alto-sueño);
le pidieron las piernas
duras y nudosas

¿No me envidias?”.
“…Me cuidan, me cuidan un poquito entre todos. No le hacen caso a uno, siempre estoy peleando para que no me manden nada. Cuando cojo el sol por la mañana en shorts y siento el aire de mar, me parece que estoy en una playa… ¡Me van a hacer creer que estoy de vacaciones! ¿Qué diría Carlos Marx de semejantes revolucionarios?”.
