MIAMI --
The U.S. Coast Guard says that 10 migrants found floating on a
pair of vessels near Florida this week have been repatriated to Cuba.
The Coast Guard said in statement that the migrants were sent back to Cuba on Saturday.
Crewmembers on the Coast Guard cutter Legare found one of the vessels carrying four migrants on a vessel 23 miles outside of Vaca Key Fla. on Tuesday. The other — carrying six migrants — was located about 20 miles outside of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. on Monday. In both cases the migrants were safely transferred to a Coast Guard vessel.
All the migrants received food, water, shelter and basic medical care, the Coast Guard said.
