La extensión de la epidemia del cólera por el país es guardada en secreto riguroso por el gobierno y reportada por la prensa independiente cuyos informes de cual localidad de Cuba o barrio de La Habana registran casos dejan casi de ser noticias; la noticia sería: ¿Dónde no hay cólera en Cuba?
The spread of cholera across the country is a rigorously guarded government secret, reported by the independent media whose sources in any Cuban locality or Havana neighbourhood report cases that almost cease to be news. The real news would be where there isn't any cholera in Cuba.
Los médicos tienen prohibido diagnosticar cólera, tienen que escribir en el certificado “enfermedad gastrointestinal”, menos puede el Ministerio de Salud Publica (MINSAP) decretar cuarentenas locales o informar a organismos internacionales de Salud, por que, oficialmente en Cuba no hay cólera.
The doctors are prohibited from diagnosing cholera; they have to write "gastrointestinal illness" on the certificate, and still less can the Ministry of Public Health declare local quarantines or report to international health agencies, because officially there is no cholera in Cuba.
En el 2012, en TV un vocero del MINSAP declaró solemnemente extinguido el brote de “enfermedades gastrointestinal” en la zona del Oriente de Cuba donde inició la epidemia, toda la prensa reprodujo la “Nota Informativa” ministerial.
In 2012, a spokeperson for Public Health solemnly declared on TV that the outbreak of "gastrointestinal illness" in eastern Cuba, where the epidemic began was extinguished. All the media reproduced the ministerial "Informative Note."
Desde entonces se extendió por la Isla, amainó en invierno y recobra virulencia por el calor y lluvia del verano.
Since then it's spread across the island; it subsided in the winter and recovered virulence in the heat and rain of summer.
La Dictadura en el tiempo del cólera se abraza a su modem operandi de mentir sobre su realidad: mentiras o muertes!
The dictatoship in the time of cholera embraces its modus operandi of lying about its reality: Lies or deaths!
Y como chiste negro circula esta adivinanza: ¿Dónde es el único lugar de Cuba en que no hay ni habrá cólera, dengue ni paludismo….? En la Prensa.
