Looking for Mr. Cuba: “Beauty and Cubanía”

Traditional beauty pageants have been banned in Cuba since the 1959 revolution. More than 50 years later, with the political climate changing on the island, a socio-cultural project, “Beauty and Cubanía”, is reviving the idea. But it’s a pageant with a difference and not about choosing a glamorous Miss or Mister as some countries do.

The finals will be held on December 26 in the famous Habana Riviera Hotel in Havana. 15 men and 15 women will be competing for prizes awarded by Cuban and foreign companies, based in Cuba.
