DPRK and Cuban state media reported that delegations of the Korean
People’s Army [KPA] and the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces met in
Pyongyang on 6 September (Thursday). The DPRK was represented by
Colonel General Yun Tong Hyon, Deputy (vice) Minister of the People’s
Armed Forces, and Cuba was represented by General Joaquín Quintas Solá,
Deputy (vice) Minister of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces. Also in
attendance was Leonardo Perez Mesa, military attaché at the Cuban
Embassy in the DPRK. According to KCNA, “At the talks both sides
expressed willingness to further develop the friendly ties between the
two armies and exchanged views on the issues of mutual concern. The
talks proceeded in comradely and friendly atmosphere.”
