Canadian vacationers stranded in Cuba for 29 hours

The couple paid $1,153 each for a 10-day vacation at the five-star Memories Paraiso Beach resort man-aged by Sunwing.
But they began to doubt the resort's rating after arriving at the powder sand beach.
Garritsen's TV didn't work for days. Toilet seats were missing from bath-rooms in the hotel lobby.
And after Garritsen piled up food at a buffet one day, it took half an hour for staff to track down a fork.
"As our week progressed, you noticed that people weren't happy. The lineups were incredible, the service was really below par," Garritsen said. "Of course, the flight home was the kicker."
Sleep deprivation made a hellish trip back even worse.
To make a 7 a.m. scheduled flight, the Garritsens checked out at 1: 15 a.m. for a two-hour bus trip to the airport.
Arriving at 4 a.m., the flight home was cancelled six hours later. It took five hours to get everyone back on buses to their hotels.
After five hours back at the hotel, Garritsen checked out again at 10 p.m. to return for a 2 a.m. flight. It was delayed another hour before they finally boarded, taxied for 45 minutes and then waited until 6 a.m. for the fog to lift.  More >>
