‘Making of a Martyr,’ about child suicide bombers in the Muslim world


‘The Making Of A Martyr’ explores the world of child suicide bombers in the Palestinian Territories. This award winning documentary was directed and produced by  Brooke Goldstein (pictured right). She’s a human rights attorney and founder of  The Children’s Rights Institute (CRI) based in New York City.

And best of all, Brooke is NOT a liberal, she’s a Jewish Conservative human rights attorney.
The Children’s Rights Institute  is a not-for-profit charitable institution founded in 2007 by its director, Brooke Goldstein, a New York-based attorney, activist, author and award-winning filmmaker. CRI’s mission is to raise awareness about and legally combat violations of children’s basic human rights as occurring throughout the globe. CRI has a special focus on the incitement and recruitment of children to become suicide-homicide bombers, child soldiers and human shields.
On March 24th 2004, a fifteen year old Palestinian boy named Hussam Abdu was apprehended at an Israeli border checkpoint with live explosives strapped around his waist. Instead of detonating the bomb, Hussam voluntarily gave himself up to the Israeli army and is now serving time in the HaSharon prison for attempted murder. The Making of a Martyr documents the ongoing education and recruitment of innocent Palestinian children to become human bombs. The film is composed of first-hand interviews with families of suicide bombers, leaders of terrorist organizations, children imprisoned for participating in violent activities and others…
