In a blog post for the New York Review of Books, Jeremy Bernstein gives an alarming update on Iran's nuclear program, a threat that has been somewhat overshadowed by the turmoil in the Middle East and North Africa this year. Citing the International Atomic Energy Agency's latest report, Bernstein notes that Iran seems to have overcome problems caused by the Stuxnet computer worm. In fact, Iran is now producing enriched uranium at an even faster rate than they were before the Stuxnet attack on Iran's centrifuges. The Iranians have also announced plans to build 10 new enrichment facilities - a fairly definitive indication that they are building a weapon. Bernstein concludes that this virtually guarantees that Israel will draw a line in the sand. For the U.S., none of the options look good.
