Pace of events in Middle East unprecedented

PJ Crowley, the former US state department spokesman, has denied that there was a split between the Pentagon and the State Department over the military action in Libya. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Crowley said officials have found it challenging to construct an approach that strikes the right balance between military action and diplomacy in Libya. But he said the uprisings in the Middle East are unfolding at an unprecedented speed - making it very difficult to predict outcomes.
