Major oil company Chevron and Ecuadorian tribes have been in a legal battle for 18 years in one of the biggest environmental scandals in the world. After an Ecuadorian court ruled that Chevron has to pay U.S. 9.5. bln in damages to the plaintiffs, the oil giant moved the case to New York, and getting a local judge's supports to drag the case out, while the Amazon Defense Coalition says thousands of people are being affected by cancer and other illnesses from pollution and contamination.
