U.S. Air Force aircraft fly with U.S. Navy and Japanese Air Self-Defense Force aircraft in formation over Andersen AFB, Guam 15 Feb. 2010. The United States Air and the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force conduct Cope North annually to increase combat readiness and interoperability, concentrating on coordination and evaluation of the air tactics, techniques and procedures. The ability for both nations to work together increases their preparedness to support real-world contingencies.
