Egyptian officials say emergency laws in the country will be lifted within six months and proposals to amend the constitution are almost ready.
Those were some of the demands of pro-democracy campaigners who ousted president Mubarak more than a week ago.
With the unrest now over, the country has also reopened its Rafah border to the Gaza Strip.
