Sean Penn cares, deeply, for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and his fellow Tea Party members. It's why the Oscar winner wants Cruz and co. committed to a mental asylum.
Penn shared his views on the Tea Party during Monday's edition of the low-ratedPiers Morgan Live on CNN.
I think they have -- there's a mental health problem in Congress,” Penn said. “This would be solved by committing them by executive order, I think. Because these are our American brothers and sisters, we shouldn't be criticizing them, attacking them … this is a cry for help.
“You literally commit what, people like Ted Cruz?” asked Morgan.
“He is my American brother,” the actor said. “I think we should take care of him, he is in trouble.”
Morgan did not challenge Penn's assertion or ask any follow-up questions as even a third-rate journalist might. Instead, Morgan chuckled like a school girl sitting atop a whoopee cushion.
LOS ANGELES – Samuel L. Jackson has some words of wisdom for President Obama when it comes to his deliberate dropping of “g’s” off the ends of words to seemingly sound like Joe Average.
“First of all, we know it ain’t because of his blackness, so I say stop trying to ‘relate.’ Be a leader. Be f**king presidential,” Jackson told Playboy magazine. “Look, I grew up in a society where I could say ‘It ain’t’ or ‘What it be’ to my friends. But when I’m out presenting myself to the world as me, who graduated from college, who had family what cared about me, who has a well-read background, I f**king conjugate.”
The 64-year-old actor, who stars this fall in the highly-anticipated remake of “Oldboy,” is also known in social media circles as the “grammar police.”
“On Twitter someone will write, ‘Your an idiot,’ and I’ll go, ‘No, you’re an idiot,’ and all my Twitterphiles will go, ‘Hey, Sam Jackson, he’s the grammar police.’ I’ll take that,” he continued. “Somebody needs to be. I mean, we have newscasters who don’t even know how to conjugate verbs, something Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Murrow never had problems with. How the f**k did we become a society where mediocrity is acceptable.”
Raised in Tennessee, Jackson went on to note that he’s finally proud to acknowledge his Southern roots, and how his strict family upbringing put him in good stead.
“Looking back, I love the South so much, even though there was a time when I didn’t feel so proud of being from there. The sense of community there is unheard of in this day and age. The idea that it takes a village to raise a child—it works,” he said. “The one thing my family insisted on was, don’t embarrass us. Don’t make us come to jail, because though we will come to see you, we’re going to leave you there. It just wasn’t an option for me. I was more afraid of the people I lived with than the people I ran with.”
The famed actor also staunchly defended director Quentin Tarantino’s controversial use of the “N” word in last year’s hit “Django Unchained.”
“These 20-somethings can’t turn around and tell me the word n**ger is f**ked-up in ‘Django’ yet still listen to Jay Z or whoever else say ‘n**ger, n**ger, n**ger’ throughout the music they listen to,” he told the men’s magazine. “You can’t have it one way and not the other. Saying Tarantino said ‘n**ger’ too many times is like complaining they said ‘kike’ too many times in a movie about Nazis.”
However, there are a couple of things he says won’t do onscreen – not even for his buddy Tarantino. Maybe.
“Probably dress up as a woman and kiss another guy. I don’t think people want to see me do that,” Jackson added. “He hasn’t asked me, but you know what? If it’s done right and the story is good, I might.”
It has been three years since Jack Nicholson last appeared on screen and now Radar Online is reporting that the three-time Oscar winner has retired from acting due to a failing memory that makes it impossible for him to remember his lines. Radar's source says Nicholson will continue to be a public figure, just not on film.
The 76-year-old icon has no plans to appear in films again after a career spanning five decades.
“Jack has — without fanfare — retired,” a well-placed Hollywood film insider confirmed to Radar.
“There is a simple reason behind his decision — it’s memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him.
Nicholson's decision puts him in a club with fellow Oscar winners Sean Connery and Gene Hackman, who also quietly retired from the acting profession in their mid to late seventies.
Radar adds that Nicholson will still be seen courtside at Lakers' games and in public appearances, such as his co-presentation of the Best Picture Oscar at last year's Academy Awards.
Nicholson's screen career began in 1956 in the television series Matinee Theatre. After numerous film and television appearances, stardom would finally arrive thirteen years later with a memorable supporting role in 1969's Easy Rider. From there, Nicholson never looked back. On his way to becoming a screen legend, Nicholson would rack up an incredible twelve Oscar nominations, winning three.
She might be 38 years old, but Charlize Theron has a body women half her age would be jealous of.
The Prometheus star displayed her incredible figure in a tiny red bikini as she enjoyed a vacation in Hawaii with son Jackson last week.
The blonde-haired actress looked in truly amazing shape, with a washboard stomach and toned arms and legs, as she frolicked with her little boy in the sunshine.

Charlize teamed her red triangle bikini with two drop necklaces and a pair of sunglasses as she kept a close eye on her little boy.
Jackson, meanwhile, kept himself entertained by playing with a snorkel mask - attempting to put it over his head, much to his mother's amusement.
Charlize giggled with delight as she watched her 17-month-old son try and figure out the swimming accessory, eventually getting it half over his head.

The actress then ensured Jackson was properly decked out in a full-body swimming costume, protective hat and mini life jacket as she allowed him to get into the hotel hot tub and pool with her.
After allowing the adorable tot to splash around in the jacuzzi, Charlize accompanied him into the main pool.
Keeping a tight hold on Jackson, Charlize encouraged her son to kick his legs as she pulled him along in the water.

And clearly not used to such an enjoyable experience, Jackson was seen beaming widely and giggling as he clung to his mother.
As well as enjoying some mother and son time on the holiday, Charlize opted for the break to mark her 38th birthday.
The actress revealed in a recent interview that while she isn't planning to have any plastic surgery at the moment, she hasn't ruled it out in the future.

She said in a previous interview: 'I don’t know how I might feel about it when I hit 54. We all want to age gracefully. My God, women are under so much pressure!
'With such demands for perfection and an eternal obsession with youth, I’m not surprised that we all become part of this beauty race that seems to be getting crazier.' And asked what her secret to looking good and staying youthful is, Charlize replied: 'When you live a good life and have good thoughts, it shows.'

Hip-hop artist Jay-Z has reportedly joined the boycott of Florida over the state's controversial "stand your ground" law.
We respect his concerns.
However, it seems particularly hypocritical for Jay-Z to promote a boycott of democratic Florida, but have no problem vacationing in totalitarian Cuba.
As we all know, Cuba's police-state practices a unilateral "stand your ground" on steroids -- meaning if you even think contrary to the Castro regime, they can beat you, imprison you and kill you.
But why let that impede a "salsa and mojito" tour -- courtesy of the Obama Administration's so called "people-to-people" trips.
Clearly, the deaths of Cuban democracy leaders Orlando Zapata Tamayo, Laura Pollan and Oswaldo Paya, mean nothing to Jay-Z.
Neither do the violent beatings and abuses against Cuba's Ladies in White and Afro-Cuban democracy activists.

ROME, Italy - James Gandolfini’s teenage son called for help after discovering his father collapsed in a bathroom, according to the manager of the Italian hotel where the “The Sopranos” star was staying. The Emmy-winning actor was later pronounced dead aged 51.
Gandolfini, who rose to fame as mob boss Tony Soprano on the hit HBO show, was still alive when the ambulance arrived, according to Antonio D'amore, who runs the Hotel Boscolo in Rome.
The award-winning actor made even brutal mob boss Tony Soprano seem likable, but that was far from his only role.
Gandolfini suffered a suspected heart attack in the bathroom of his hotel room at about 10 p.m. local (4 p.m. ET) Wednesday, according to D’amore.
He said Gandolfini’s son, Michael, was with him in the room and called for help. Hotel staff rushed to the room and found the actor on the bathroom floor, D'amore said.
Workers tried to resuscitate him but he was later pronounced dead at the Policlinico Umberto I hospital, which is about a three-minute drive from the hotel.
Gandolfini and his family were visiting Rome prior to his scheduled appearance on Saturday as guest of honor at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily.
"He was a genius," said "Sopranos" creator David Chase. "Anyone who saw him even in the smallest of his performances knows that. He is one of the greatest actors of this or any time."
Gandolfini won critical acclaim, three Emmy Awards and three Screen Actors Guild awards for playing Tony Soprano from 1999-2007.
"We're all in shock and feeling immeasurable sadness at the loss of a beloved member of our family," HBO said in a statement. "He was a special man, a great talent, but more importantly a gentle and loving person who treated everyone no matter their title or position with equal respect. He touched so many of us over the years with his humor, his warmth and his humility. Our hearts go out to his wife and children during this terrible time. He will be deeply missed by all of us."
Although a New Jersey native, Gandolfini didn't expect to land the role of Tony Soprano. "I thought that they would hire some good-looking guy, not George Clooney but some Italian George Clooney, and that would be that," he told Vanity Fair in 2012.
But instead, it was Gandolfini who got the nod, and he made viewers care about a mob boss who could order the murder of a family member one minute and turn around and tenderly feed the ducks that swam in his estate's swimming pool the next.
"I think you cared about Tony because David was smart enough to write the Greek chorus, through (Soprano's psychiatrist) Dr. Melfi," Gandolfini said. "So you sat there and you got to see his motives, what he was thinking, what he was trying to do, what he was trying to fix, what he was trying to become. And then you saw it didn’t really work out the way he wanted it to."
Actress Lorraine Bracco, who played Melfi, said in a statement,"We lost a giant today. I am utterly heartbroken."
TODAY.com's Gael Fashingbauer Cooper and NBC News' Alastair Jamieson contributed to this report.
(AP) John Malkovich helps Ohio tourist hurt in Canada
DEFIANCE, Ohio
A tourist from northwest Ohio says actor John Malkovich played a starring role in rescuing him when he fell and gashed his throat on scaffolding in Canada.
Seventy-seven-year-old Jim Walpole of Defiance fell Thursday in Toronto while on a trans-Canadian trip.
Walpole tells the Toronto Star that Malkovich, who was appearing at a local theater, applied pressure to slow the bleeding until medics arrived. The injury required 10 stitches.
Ben Quinn, whose family owns a restaurant nearby, held Walpole's head. He said by phone Monday that Malkovich "had everything under control" quickly, didn't want attention and called later to check on Walpole.
A message seeking an update was left for Walpole on Monday. Representatives for Malkovich did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.
(AP) MOSCOW--Russia is looking at Steven Seagal to be the face of its weapons industry as it guns for first place on the world arms market.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said the action movie star may head up an international marketing campaign to promote the Degtarev arms plant, Russian news agencies reported. He accompanied Seagal on a visit there Tuesday.
"You're ready to fight American (manufacturers) with your teeth and your intellect, and if Americans are prepared to promote and support you, that says we're learning new ways to work on corporate warfare markets," Rogozin said.
Russian officials are big fans of Seagal, who met President Vladimir Putin in March and claimed to have set up a meeting with Rogozin for a Congressional delegation last week.
A representative for actor Michael Douglas now says the actor doesn't blame his throat cancer on oral sex.
The Guardian newspaper published an interview Monday saying that Douglas attributed his illness to the HPV virus from oral sex. When asked about his cancer, Douglas said "without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV (human papillomavirus), which actually comes from cunnilingus."
But spokesman Allen Burry said later that Douglas never said that was the cause of his cancer. He said Douglas was discussing what causes oral cancer during the interview.
Health officials say smoking and alcohol are the main causes of oral cancer. The human
Jolie's not the first famous name to have the preventative surgery.
Here are five other celebrities who have undergone the same procedure and what factored into their decision.
Sharon Osbourne (2012)
Last year, Osbourne revealed to Hello! magazine last year she had the preventative surgery after learning she had the gene for cancer.
"For me, it wasn't a big decision, it was a no-brainer. I didn't want to live the rest of my life with that shadow hanging over me. I want to be around for a long time and be a grandmother to Pearl ... I just wanted to be able to live my life without that fear all the time. It's not 'pity me', it's a decision I made that's got rid of this weight that I was carrying around."
"Luckily, I don't have to undergo radiation or chemo," said Bates. "My family call me Kat because I always land on my feet and thankfully this is no exception."
"It sounds scary up front, but what do you want? Do you want to wait and not be as fortunate when it comes back and it’s too late?"
Christina Applegate (2008)
Applegate explained on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" she had a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer at age 36 and finding out she tested positive for the BRCA gene.
"It came on really fast. It was one of those things that I woke up and it felt so right," she said. "It just seemed like, 'I don't want to have to deal with this again. I don't want to keep putting that stuff in my body. I just want to be done with this.' & I was just going to let them go."
Everyone loves a rags to riches story - especially in Hollywood. But not every A-List actor or Billboard pop star waited tables until they got their big break. Some of them had more than a little help from their well-connected families or a top-notch theater programs at elite colleges. Our friends at Snakkle.com find out which stars went from rich to richer.
THEN: Gwyneth didn't exactly luck into fame and fortune. The star is the daughter of the late producer-director Bruce Paltrow, and her mom is actress Blythe Danner. Like many jet-setting teens, Gwyneth grew up in L.A. and New York City, where she attended the elite all-girls Spence School.
NOW: Starring in megahits like “Iron Man 3” and appearing on the 2013 cover of People magazine’s “Most Beautiful Woman” issue is only going to add to Gwyneth’s bottom line. It certainly doesn’t hurt that her husband, Chris Martin, continues to rake in millions of dollars of his own thanks to the ongoing success of his group, Coldplay.
Lady Gaga
THEN: Lady Gaga moved to New York City’s gritty Lower East Side before she hit it big, but she grew up in a duplex on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Gaga’s father, Joe Germanotta, became rich by investing in hotel Wi-Fi services.
NOW: Gaga attended the Convent of the Sacred Heart, a Manhattan private school that cost an estimated $35,000 per year, but the pop superstar still slams "everyone that was spitting in my face and making me feel so worthless." Worthless is exactly what Gaga isn’t. She’s amassed a giant fortune over the past few years.
Kobe Bryant
THEN: Kobe Bryant’s life seemed destined to be a slam-dunk success right from the start thanks to his position as the son of NBA star Joe “Jellybean” Bryant.
NOW: Though Kobe was accused of sexual assault on a 19-year-old in 2003—rape charges were later dismissed— the basketball player managed to bounce back. He helped the Lakers make the 2008 NBA Finals. They lost, but Kobe assisted in bringing them back to win the championship title the next year. Kobe scored two gold medals as part of the U.S. basketball team during the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, and the sports star is still going strong today.
Miley Cyrus
THEN: Miley Cyrus started out life in the shadow of her famous country crooner father, Billy Ray. He made millions off his hit song, “Achy Breaky Heart,” and kept his future superstar daughter on a $300 monthly allowance (not bad if you ask us).
NOW: Miley far surpassed her father’s earning power years ago, and she’s now worth hundreds of millions of dollars. The former “Hannah Montana” star oversees a massive merchandising empire, and she now has several chart-topping albums under her belt.

¿No me envidias?”. “…Me cuidan, me cuidan un poquito entre todos. No le hacen caso a uno, siempre estoy peleando para que no me manden nada.
